Southpoint Hotel to become a Radisson in November
Jacksonville
Business Journal
Two companies from the Northeast
have bought the Southpoint Hotel and will reopen it as the Radisson Hotel,
Jacksonville-Butler in November.
AMC Delancey Group Inc. of Philadelphia and Paramount
Hotel Group of Fairfield, N.J. bought the 167-room hotel earlier this
year. The hotel has been closed since May and is currently being renovated.
Renovations include a gutting and refurbishing of the
restaurant and bar, meeting space and all hotel rooms.
The new owners say the renovations will result in a
more viable property.
"This facility was formerly not well-maintained,
but our extensive repositioning and reinvestment work will establish the
Radisson as the most sought after hotel in the area," said Ethan
Kramer, president of Paramount.
AMC Delancey President and CEO Kenneth P. Balin said
the company is looking for more investment properties in the Jacksonville
area.
"We are actively looking for new real estate joint
venture opportunities in the Jacksonville marketplace," said Balin.
The hotel is off Interstate 95 and J. Turner Butler
Boulevard, close to several Southpoint office parks and about 10 miles
from downtown.
